HOMEMADE SHEA BUTTER  LOTION

Non-Greasy Recipe

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup unrefined raw shea butter 2 tablespoons nourishing carrier oil  (optional) 1 teaspoon arrowroot starch (optional) 15 drops essential oil

TOOLS

Medium-Size Sauce Pan Medium-Size Heat Safe Bowl  Electric Mixer or Fork Fridge or Freezer Storage Jar

STEP 1: MELT SHEA

Melt the shea butter in a double boiler.  Learn how to do this in the link below.

STEP 2: ADD OIL

Stir 1 teaspoon of arrowroot starch into the liquid oil of choice. Add to shea butter.

STEP 3: CHILL

Place the bowl in the fridge and allow it to solidify (about 30 minutes to 1 hour).

STEP 4: ADD ESSENTIAL OILS

Once the mixture is opaque and firm, remove the bowl from the fridge. Stir in essential oils.

STEP 5: WHIP

Use the whisk attachment and an electric mixer, hand mixer, or a fork to whisk the mixture until it appears “whipped.”

STEP 6: ENJOY!

Spoon into a jar and it's ready to use on the face, arms, legs, dry patches, etc.
